For Hillary dance is a way of life, a comprehensive education and outlet of self expression. She is a certified member of the Dance Teaching Standards program, Jazz/tap Instructor (ADAPT Syllabus), Jazz CDTA Certified, Certified member of the Professional Adjudicators Alliance (PAA), Affiliate Member of the Society of Classical Ballet, and Alixa Flexibility Certified (M3). From jumping in puddles to busting a groove on the Toronto stage, Hillary began her training in Calgary, Alberta at Premiere Dance Academy where she studied ballet, tap, jazz, musical theatre, modern, lyrical and hip hop. It is here that she earned several awards including the Vanessa Williams scholarship for Best Overall Dancer. She actively studied with Sean Cheesman, who now can be seen on So You Think You Can Dance Canada and USA. In her professional career, Hillary was a children’s entertainer at the amusement park, Calaway Park in Calgary and upon moving to Toronto plays an active role in the Toronto dance scene. She performs with Bella Divas, a female hip hop troupe and is a commercial jazz performer and company member with LR Productions. Hillary has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ryerson University and was assistant captain to the Ryerson Rhythm Dance Pak during her fours years at Ryerson. Hillary has recently performed in Making Waves Festival at Dundas Square, STOMP Urban Dance, Talent Defined, The Baazar, Pegasus Dance (proceeds towards building a schoolhouse in Rwanda), Women in Dance (proceeds towards Re-Think Breast Cancer) and various corporate events for corporate clients. Hillary is excited continue to educate eager young minds as a part of the teaching faculty and administrative team as Business Manager at Swansea School of Dance!
