Ballet

We follow the syllabus for the Royal Academy of Dance and the Society of Russian Ballet and offer Ballet classes from Pre-Primary (age 5) to Advanced 1.

Pre-Primary to Grade Eight

Students ages 5 and up learn to perfect ballet technique following the style and syllabus of the Royal Academy of Dance. From Pre-Primary to Grade 8, the syllabus of the RAD has been carefully designed for each stage of development. Swansea School of Dance focuses on developing classical technique, artistry and performance quality for a well-rounded classical ballet training experience.

Dress Code: Girls

Pre-Primary & Primary – white sleeveless bodysuit, pink ankle socks or tights, soft pink leather ballet slippers

Grade 1 & Grade 2 - royal blue sleeveless bodysuit, pink ankle socks or tights, soft pink leather ballet slippers, black low heel character shoes (canvas or leather)

Grade 3 & Grade 4 – burgundy sleeveless bodysuit, pink tights, soft pink leather ballet slippers, black Cuban heel character shoes (canvas or leather)

Grades 5 to 8 - black or burgundy sleeveless bodysuit, pink tights, soft pink leather ballet slippers, black Cuban heel character shoes (canvas or leather)

Intermediate Foundation to Advanced II

The Vocational Graded Syllabus is the continuation of classical ballet training from the Royal Academy of Dance’s Graded Syllabus. This syllabus is geared towards those engaging in the serious study of ballet. At the earliest level, Intermediate Foundation, pointe work is introduced for the first time.  Each syllabus has been designed to give the necessary training to students wishing to study seriously, with a possible view to following a career in dance or dance related subjects.
