Summer Camps 2012
Swansea School of Dance offers half day and full day summer camp for girls and boys ages 3 to 10 years. The dates are:
July 23 to 27, 2012 – Safari Surprise
July 30 to August 3, 2012 - Magical Forest
August 20 to 24, 2012 - Super Duper Superheroes
August 27 to 31, 2012 - Mermaids & Pirates
Half day (9:00am to 12:00pm) and full day (9:00am to 4:00pm) programs will be available for each session. The cost is $200 for half day and $325 for full day. Before care is available from 8:00am to 9:00am for $50/week. After care is available from 4:00pm to 5:00pm for $50/week.
There is an early bird discount of $25 per camp session for all registrations received and paid in full by June 1, 2012.
The camps are divided into 3 groups based on age and all campers begin the day with a group warm up. The younger dancers go on to a pre-school dance class that works with the theme of the camp, followed by a snack, craft and movement games. The two groups of older dancers have a ballet class, jazz class and a snack in the morning. If they continue for the full day, they will have lunch in the park followed by a tap class, musical theatre class and prop workshop where they work on props for the end of camp show. The morning snack is provided (vegetables and fruit) and full day campers bring their own lunch and afternoon snack. All campers should bring a water bottle. Each Friday there is a show at 11:30am for all campers which family are invited to attend. Full day campers spend Friday afternoon swimming at Swansea Recreation Centre.
Junior & Senior Intensive Camp – There will be a full day junior and senior intensive camp for dancers who are currently enrolled (in the 2011-12 dance year) in Ballet Grades 2 and higher. The intensive will run from Tuesday August 7 to Friday August 10, 2012 from 9:00am to 5:00pm and there will be some evening programs as well.
